I had a burger and salad. The burger was great. The salad was very average. My buddy had the fries which he said were very good.
Great setvice -

I've come here off and on over the years. It's a breakfast/lunch place that's sort of a diner, but not. It reminds me more of a charbroil burger place. Like I said, they are open for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast on the weekends are really busy. If you come later in the morning or around lunch time it's less crowded.
The food is good for the price. Portions are very good. Some items you can even share, depending on your appetite. I'm not a breakfast fan so I usually get their burger or chili fries. I tried their chili dog this last time and it was really good. If you are going to take the food to go, I would recommend phoning in your order rather than ordering it and waiting for it there. Again, they are crowded and if you order at the wrong time you can be waiting there a while.
Overall, decent food, good portions and reasonable price. That's why I'm a fan of this place. -

I've been to Papa Z's before, but forgot to take a pic. However, on this occasion for lunch I remembered. PZ's serves bfast & lunch and is located on Garfield near Magnolia in FV.
I ordered the chicken noodle soup ($3.90) and Greek salad ($6.90). PZ's also has items like corned beef hash & eggs ($9.10) and a chicken salad sandwich ($5.70). The latter combined with a combo ($2.90 | includes a side like fries or a salad & a drink), is a good deal.
The soup was hearty and warming on a cold, rainy day. The vegetables were rustic and there was a good amount of chicken and noodles. You could tell it was homemade: 4 Stars.
Likewise, the feta and other toppings were plentiful in the salad. In addition, the veggies were crunchy & fresh. If you wanted chicken, it was only $8.70: 4 Stars.
Regarding the ambiance, you order at the counter, take a number, and your food is brought to you. The place is bright and the restrooms are clean: 4 Stars.
Likewise, the service is friendly and warm. My food arrived quickly, and used dishes were cleared promptly: 4 Stars.
I have to remember this hidden neighborhood joint. The place was packed before the lunch hour, so peeps know a good deal and good food when they see it. -

I was craving breakfast food, so my boyfriend and I came to Papa Z's, because he had been here before and he told me the food was good. We parked in their parking lot, and he was surprised that it wasn't insanely busy, but we had skipped the breakfast rush since we came around noon.
I ordered the pancake combo with scrambled eggs, sausage, and a side of hash browns. My boyfriend ordered an sausage and cheese omelette with a side of hash browns and toast, and some french toast on the side as well.
The omelette was totally STUFFED with cheese! I took a couple of bites of it and it tasted like nothing but cheese to me, but I like cheese. He said next time he would ask for less cheese. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious. I had a bite of the french toast as well, and they were also delicious. I have not had french toast in a while, so it was extra yummy!
The hash browns were...hash browns. Nothing too special there. I ate my scrambled eggs with tapatio, but they weren't very warm. I'm not sure if they were cooked first and left on the plate while the other items were being prepared? Either way, I'd still eat here again, but maybe next time we will share something, as it was a LOT of food. -

This is the best little breakfast cafe in the neighborhood. A great local spot to grab coffee and a bite and catch up. The food is always delicious. We often order their breakfast burritos to-go because they are our favorite! The salsa is game changer! To-go ordering is very easy, always ready within 10 minutes from calling. Highly recommend.
